Everett "Lee" Cowan age 69 of Walnut Grove joined his wife on August 16, 2025 after an almost 2 year battle of heart disease. Lee was born on July 8 1956 to Genevieve and Everett Cowan in Humansville MO. He always joked that's where the humans were made. On June 23, 1984 he married Glenda Nelson and they settled in Walnut Grove to raise their family.

Lee had a huge heart and was always helping others. He was a very stubborn man and an extremely hard worker. When he wasn't working at his job he would be doing handyman/car things for siblings, kids, family, and friends. Lee was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and son in law. Family was the biggest thing for him and his love language was helping others.

After Glenda's passing Lee moved back in with his sister and they both enjoyed that time together immensely. She took care of all his medical needs and he tried to help with what he could while being stubborn and cantankerous. Lee could always be found watching either cooking shows or westerns or YouTube videos about woodworking or car/mower repair. He also had a love for reading and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, little sister Ann, and his wife Glenda

He is survived by his son Eric and fiancé Kristin of Aurora Mo, daughter Rachel Phillips and husband David of Springfield Mo, granddaughter Blair Cowan, and foster grands courtesy of Rachel and David, sister Sue Cowan of Walnut Grove, brother Richard "Dick" Coombs and wife Kristen of Springfield Mo, and nieces and nephews and cousins.
