Fabian Garlitz

Fabian Joseph Garlitz, 45, passed away on May 11, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on June 20, 1978, in Rockford, IL. He and his sister, Charo Lane, were adopted by Leo and Kathy (Breunlin) Garlitz in 1985. Fabian spent his formative years in northern Indiana where he attended Avilla Middle School and graduated from East Noble High School. He excelled in track and still holds the school 400m record. A hard-working individual, Fabian dedicated most of his adult life as a Maintenance Supervisor for various businesses in the Fort Wayne area. During his free time he found joy in the simple things of life. He was an ardent football enthusiast and was a huge supporter of the Florida Gators, and he spent many hours with genealogical research and traced his family history back several generations. Above all, Fabian treasured the time he spent with his family and children, as they were his pride and joy. Fabian is survived by his loving family, consisting of his mother, Kathy Garlitz; his siblings, Michael Garlitz, Brian Garlitz, Richard Garlitz, Charo Lane, Susie Crockett, Cheyenne Rodriguez, Agustin Rodriguez, Santiago Rodriguez, Haley West, Alvin McBride, Shawntrell McBride, and Andre Richardson; and his children, Fabian Garlitz II, Kemorah Garlitz, and Zane Kline. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Garlitz; and brother, Alex McBride. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Sheets & Childs Funeral home, 206 N. Main Street, Churubusco, IN with a short memorial service to follow at 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date when his daughter is able to attend. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
