Faralyn L Jaquith

Faralyn Lorinda Kraus Jaquith, 84, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, with her son and daughter by her side.
Faralyn was born on September 11, 1941, in Belleville, Illinois, to George and Pearl Kraus.
She graduated from high school in 1959 and later earned her teaching degree from Illinois State University in 1963.
In 1964, she married the love of her life, Richard K. Jaquith, and together they built a beautiful family and life. In 1972, they built a cherished summer home on Vilano Beach in Florida, creating many lasting memories with family and friends.
Faralyn was a dedicated educator and high school volleyball coach. Her passion and leadership led her team to win the Illinois Volleyball State Championship in 1986, a highlight of her professional career.
She was a long time member of Ancient City Baptist Church. She was active in many different areas of the church over the years.
She is survived by her devoted children, Christopher (Jana) Jaquith and Michelle (Jeff) Barnes; her beloved grandchildren, Richard (Sara), Cole, Cameron, Justin, Courteney, and Allison; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Lillian and Jackson, with another great-grandchild expected in April.
Faralyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to support Faralyn's granddaughter's missionary service in Choma, Zambia, through Poetice, continuing Faralyn's legacy of faith and service.
