Fay Knight Craig

Fay Knight Craig, 95, earned her wings in heaven from home in Georgetown, Kentucky on Friday, June 13, 2025. Fay was a Scott County native, born on April 8, 1930, to the late Mayme Poe Knight and Ira Knight. She grew up in the country near Stamping Ground, one of four siblings. Fay attended Stamping Ground Baptist Church and was a faithful member there nearly all of her life. She enjoyed keeping the nursery and singing in the choir. In later years, she was a member of Gano Baptist Church. Fay was a graduate of Stamping Ground High School Class of 1947. She married James Craig of Bath County, Kentucky, and they raised their daughters on a farm in Stamping Ground. Fay worked in Frankfort eventually retiring from the Kentucky State Transportation Department. She enjoyed raising a garden every year and canning the harvest. She loved to sew and cook. She made clothes for her family and was especially talented at hemming, altering, and repairing clothes.
Fay will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Ann (Robert) Brock and Nancy Craig, both of Georgetown, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Mary Ann (Mark) Rankin, Bobby Brock, and Andy (Laura) Brock; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Brock; a brother, Ralph Knight, of Stamping Ground; and a special friend, Henrietta Johnson. Fay will be missed by her dear caregivers, Katie Beach, Mandy Clark, and Heather Bowling. Her family is grateful for the compassion and kindness shown by them, and the entire Bluegrass Care Navigators team. Fay was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Rollie Knight; and a sister, Vivian Holland.
Services for Fay Craig will be at Gano Baptist Church, 212 Bevins Lane, Georgetown, Kentucky, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Harry Hargis and Pastor Tim Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow to the Masonic Cemetery in Stamping Ground, where Pallbearers will be Andy Brock, Bobby Brock, Robert Brock, Mark Rankin, Jeff Gillis, and Tim Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Knight, Larry Holland, and the Deacons of Gano Baptist Church.
