Faye (Drake) Hemphill, age 89, passed away on February 19, 2026 at home in Crawfordsville, IN. She was born on February 12, 1937 in Mullenburg County, KY to her parents, Clifford and Annabell Drake. She was the oldest of 4 children.
Faye graduated from Martinsville High School in Martinsville, IN, Class of 1955. She married Bill E. Hemphill on October 20, 1956, and they were married almost 32 years until his passing in 1988. They were owners of Bill & Faye's Antiques from 1972-1988, when Bill passed.
Faye was the owner of several local businesses, Benchmark Realty and Tax Services, Hemphill Insurance Network and The Flooring Gallery Plus.
Faye was a member of the Montgomery County Homemakers & Business and Professional Women's Club. She is also a member of the Moose and the Legion in Crawfordsville.
She loved to cook, bake and garden. Her favorite TV show was Wheel of Fortune. One time, she went to Indianapolis to try out for Wheel of Fortune, and while she didn't make it on the show, she certainly enjoyed the experience.
Faye is survived by her children, Debbie Hemphill and Stuart (Cindy) Hemphill; 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Jacob, Anthony, Ethan and Jory; 4 great grandchildren, Brayleigh, Dallin, Paisleigh and Haddie; sister, Loraine Allee; brother, Keith (Jackie) Drake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hemphill; parents, Clifford and Annabell Drake; and youngest brother, Glen Drake.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road in Waynetown from 10am until the time of the service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
