Faye Elizabeth Sloan Quinlivan, 95, passed away comfortably on 7/16/2024 after prolonged illness. Born on 2/15/1929, she was the daughter of Landon Watson Sloan and Maude Marie McCormick Sloan of Wilmington North Carolina.
After obtaining her bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida and her masters degree from Nova Southeastern University, she practiced as a licensed mental health counselor. She was a strong advocate for human rights and environmental awareness. She emphasized the importance of history and social change. She encouraged self-respect as well respect for others. She loved music, art and cinema.
She is preceded in death by her domestic partner Nancy Breeze, ex-husband William Francis Quinlivan Jr., son James Patrick Quinlivan, grandson John David Quinlivan, granddaughter Juliana Sloan Mills, brother Landon Watson "Jack" Sloan Jr., of Wilmington, NC, sister Judith Matilda Sloan Colvin of Wilmington, NC, and sister Marian Page Sloan Gabriele of Shelton, CT. She is survived by son William Francis Quinlivan, III of Hawthorne, FL, son Michael Alan Quinlivan of Palm Bay, FL, son John Daniel Quinlivan of Melbourne, FL, daughter Rosemary Anne Quinlivan Mills of Longwood, FL, daughter Joanna Quinlivan Hannah of Altamonte Springs, FL, son Steven Leo Quinlivan of Valkaria, FL, 21 Grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, brothers Andrew Alexander Sloan of Leland, NC, and Harry Lynn Sloan of Greenville, NC. as well as many, many of her dear friends.
Her impact on the lives of those she loved is noteworthy and she is dearly missed.
