Fayne Farmer, 87, better known to many as “Farmer Fayne”, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at his home.
Fayne was born on September 3, 1938 to his parents, Eulice and Estelle Farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Horne Farmer; his brothers, Garry Farmer and Fred Farmer and his sisters, Geraldine Ball and Lizzy Farmer.
He is survived by daughter, Dawn Farmer Smith and husband Michael; sons, Kevin Farmer, Chuck Farmer and wife Tonya; sister, Gaynell Farmer Smith and Anna Lee Fields; grandchildren, Michael Colbey Smith, Rebecca Jayne Smith, Lucas Kane Smith, Jacob McKenzie Smith, Noah Steven Farmer, Bailey Scott Farmer, Andrew Arthur Salyer and Abigail Brianne Jessee. His eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren were “Farmer Fayne’s” biggest fans and vice versa, Mia Grace, Zeke, Keaton, Silas, Bentley, Ruth, Greyson and Hudson. Papaw “Far Far” was their person. More importantly than all things, “Farmer Fayne’s” hope was that he lived his life in a manner that pointed others to his Savior and God’s grace.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” was in the very breath of his words that Fayne spoke and truly lived by. He was known as a man of great faith, integrity and hard work by those who knew him. He was a man passionate in studying scripture researching bible history and then forging that knowledge to others in teaching hoping to provoke them to take it further and influence others to do likewise. His joy and love of his family, church family, gardening and all Lebanon sports events was preceded only by his love and service for God.
