Finley Randall "Randy" Proffer

A memorial service for Finley Randall Proffer, age 73 of Myra will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17 2025 at First Baptist Church of Muenster
Randy was born in Gainesville, Texas to Finley Manfred and Anna Margaret (Meyer) Proffer on September 30, 1951.
He married Virginia Raye Welch on September 17, 1970. They moved to Myra where they raised their family and lived until his passing.
He came to salvation in Christ at Tabernacle Baptist Church where he later served as a deacon. He attended Myra Baptist Church and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Muenster. He led his family in a manner that exhibited Christ and tried to live a life that honored God and shard the love of Jesus with those he came in contact with.
He started working on the family farm at a young age. As a young man he worked at Southland Paint and then the Blankenship dairy. He worked at Proffer Ford Tractor before beginning work as a mechanic at Endres Motor Company in 1974. He later worked for Peterbuilt, Dennison Ford, Gainesville Ford, as service manager, Glenn Polk Ford, and then returned to Muenster to the renamed Klement Ford of Muenster. He later opened Proffer Auto with his son Daniel. After it's closing he worked for Rumber in maintenance and then retired from his job at the City of Muenster.
In his spare time he tinkered with his tractors, fished with his family, enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He most recently began collecting firearms. He loved his family and never turned down an opportunity to help them when they needed anything.
He is survived by his children Finley Michael and Jane Proffer, Virgil Daniel and Natalie Proffer, and Samuel Robert and Mandi Proffer. Grandchildren Felicia Green-Whaley, McKenna Fuller, Grace Mayhew, Faith Hassell, Anna Proffer, Hope Havard, and Cale Proffer. Great grandchildren Alice Green-Whaley, Amelia Green-Whaley, Henree Green-Whaley, Winnifred Fuller, Kate Mae Hassell. Sisters Sammie Hunter and Darlene Gaitan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Proffer, his parents Finley Manfred Proffer and Anna Margaret Hunter, and step father James Hunter.
