Florence Dirr of Middletown, NY, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away with her daughters by her side on October 12, 2022, at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 82 years old.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Florence M. LaBelle, she was born on October 28, 1939, at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, NYC
Florence was a retired Bookkeeper and Front-End Manager for A&P Supermarkets for over 50 years.
Florence was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and having large family gatherings on her patio, traveling to Allentown with her husband to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren, nights out at the casino, and spoiling her parrot, Sparky. She was a lover of all
animals and could never let one go hungry. Those closest to Florence knew her for her incredible ability to nap anywhere.
It's hard to believe her eyes are closed for good now. Rest in peace mom. You will be sorely missed by your family.
Florence is survived by her daughters: Nancy Zemba of Allentown, PA and Susan Dirr of Middletown, NY; her grandchildren: Daniel, Megan, and Erin Zemba of Allentown, PA and Angela Fiedler of Middletown, NY; a great-granddaughter Eden Zemba of Allentown, PA; a beloved parrot Sparky; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and husband of nearly 58 years, Kenneth Dirr. Burial of Ashes will take place at Wallkill Cemetary at the convenience of the family.
