Florence Kovaly

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florence Kovaly, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on August 9, 2025 at the age of 89. Florence was born on April 4, 1936, in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, to her loving parents, Stanley and Jennie Kulesza. She spent her life embodying the values of kindness, generosity, loyalty, and joy, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Florence's journey through life was marked by love and dedication. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she developed a passion for knowledge that would stay with her throughout her life. Her love for literature enriched her days, often accompanied by the companionship of her beloved cats, who brought her much joy and comfort. On February 21, 1960, Florence married the love of her life, Kenneth Kovaly. Their marriage spanned an incredible 65 years, filled with shared dreams, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, raising their son, Christopher, who became a source of immense pride and joy for Florence. Family was at the heart of Florence's life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth, and her cherished son, Christopher Kovaly. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Kuhl, who shared countless memories over the years. Florence was preceded in death by her sister, Monica Gusk, whose memory she held dear in her heart. Florence's legacy is one of warmth and compassion. Her friends and family will remember her radiant smile, her kind words, and her joyful spirit that could light up any room. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with others, offering support and encouragement to those around her. Her love for life was apparent, and she approached each day with gratitude and enthusiasm. A memorial service will be held on August 23, 2025 at 1PM at Barrett Leber Funeral Home in Tenafly, NJ. Florence Kovaly will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved beyond measure and will be remembered with fondness and affection.
