Florence Mae "Flo" Wise

Hilton - Florence Mae Wise - "Flo" passed away on December 6, 2024 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her parents, Willard and Carrie Parker; her son, Stacey Wise; and her long-time loving companion, Ronald Davies. She is survived by her sons, Lester (Wendy) Wise Jr., and Scott (Sue) Wise; her 5 grandchildren, Branden (Mary) Baxter, Melissa Baxter, Cody Wise, Lester (Leah) Wise, and Andrew (Jon) Wise; her great-grandchildren, Liana, Isabella, Ethan, Isabella, Christopher, Connor, and Arielle; her siblings, Dick Parker, Earl Parker, and Linda Cole; and several nieces and nephews.
Flo was a single mother to three boys, that kept her very busy "being boys". She was a member of the Choir at the Walker Baptist Church for a number of years. She volunteered at the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance in the early 70's. While on ambulance runs involving children, she would give a small stuffed animal to help ease their trauma. She fastened a note to each animal explaining that the child could cry or talk to them, and the animal wouldn't tell anyone. She was a baker for many years, which started at a very young age, helping her mother and grandmother. Her baking talent was known throughout the county. Flo regularly provided cakes, cookies, pies, and snacks to Sunday Church. Anytime someone needed baked goods for an event she would fire up the oven and whip something up. If you had special allergies to food, she would make a cake or cookies that you could still enjoy. Flo worked as a school bus driver in Hilton; at the Hilton Big M in the bakery department; for a life insurance company; as well as for C&B Toy Sales; she also worked at Sullivans Charbroil. Flo eventually opened her own bakery business in her home. She then started working at Sweetie Pies Bakery in North Chili, which she purchased from former owner, Bob Ottley, and owned for nearly 20 years. While working at the bakery, she also worked at the US Post Office main hub in Henrietta on the night shift. She retired from the post office and dedicated more time to the bakery. Along with all of this, she enjoyed writing short stories and being a Clown called "Percey Polywoggal". She was a long-time member of the Hilton United Methodist Church where she also provided baked goods for several events. Flo cherished the moments she spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and many friends in the community.
There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Florence's Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Hilton United Methodist Church, 21 West Avenue, Hilton 14468.
