Floyd "Buddy" Ira Anderson, age 89, passed away on August 8, 2025. Born on July 2, 1936, to Zadock and Mary Anderson, Buddy lived a full and hardworking life. He was a skilled contractor who built many homes throughout his lifetime. A true outdoorsman, Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, working cows, and raising bees-well known for making the best tupelo honey around. His hands were rarely still, and he found joy in every task he took on. It is also said the Buddy was a terrible driver and would rather hit it than go around it. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Doris Kimbrel, Sybil Coxwell, and Vivian Collier; and his son-in-law, Torbin Dykes. He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Anderson; his daughter, Nikki Dykes and her daughter, Haley Pelt; sons, Eddy Taylor (Rita) and their children Kelley, John, BO, Ashely, and Kimberly; Wayne Taylor (Michelle) and their children LeAnne, Amy, Austin, and Britni; 17 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for the land, and dedication to his family. Funeral service will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, at Williams Memorial Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM CT and service at 11:00 AM CT. Arrangements are under the direction of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
