Floyd Bell, age 85, of Broseley, MO walked through Heaven's gates on Monday, January 9, 2023 at his residence in Broseley, MO, surrounded by family. Mr. Bell was born December 22, 1937, in Neelyville, MO, son of the late Charles G. Bell and Eva Toole. He attended Fisk High School and was a life long Twin Rivers Royals fan. He served in the National Guard and United States Army where he was stationed in Korea. On August 31, 1963 he married the love of his life, Myrna Sue Acre. He was a lifelong member of Black River General Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. In addition to his love for the Lord, Floyd treasured his family and considered them his greatest accomplishments in life. He was an avid sports fan. He was likely to be found in a gym or ball field, cheering on not only his grandchildren, but all young athletes of the community. Floyd also enjoyed bass and crappie fishing with his mother and his twin brother. He always looked forward to the annual family fishing trip on Norfork Lake.
Floyd is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years: Myrna Sue; three children: Trendall and Lisa Bell, Shelly & Randy Hester, and Marla Jo and Jason Lance;10 grandchildren: Chad and Jamyle Bell, Stephanie and Raymond Webb, Summer and Brian Shipman, Nikki and Dustin Reece, Landon and Allison Ham, Devin and Bailey Hester, Sydni and Kaleb Berrong, Logan Ham, Karson Ham, and Matthew Hendrix; 11 great-grandchildren: Evyn and Nelson Webb, Chadyn and Weston Bell, Kennedy, Connor, and Marni Ray, Ace and Hank Luecke, and Benjamin and Gideon Ham. Other survivors include 1 brother and 4 sisters: Lloyd Bell (Jeanne), Jane Parker, Shirley Eddy (Don), Gloria Sue Martin, Roxey Roberts (Larry); and 1 sister in law: Peggy McDonald (Gary). In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one grandson: Byron Bell, and 5 siblings: Mary Snook, Larry Bell, Betty Nelson, Berniece West, and Linda Faye Bell.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev Jim Sanders and Rev. Wayne Burchett officiating.
