Floyd Bentke, 82, of Brenham, TX, passed away at his residence on August 6, 2023.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2023 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Gay Hill with Pastor Skip Stutts officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Floyd was born on December 7, 1940 in Washington County, TX to Emil and Ella Koehne Bentke. He was baptized on December 29, 1940 and confirmed on June 6, 1954. He married his wife, Linda Winkelmann, on March 1, 1969 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. He worked as a factory worker at Sealy Mattress and as a carpenter.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Linda Bentke of Brenham, TX; sons, Troy Bentke of Brenham, TX and Timmy Bentke of Brenham, TX; brothers; William (Charlie) Bentke of Brenham, TX and Tom Bentke of Brenham, TX; sister, Florence Bentke of Brenham, TX; brothers-in-law, Melvin Winkelmann and Gary Winkelmann; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Lorine Winkelmann; sister and brother-in-law, Leroy and Ella Mae Ruemke; and sisters-in-law, Sandra Bentke, Myrtle Bentke, and Cookie Winkelmann.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Bentke, Brian Bentke, Billy Ruemke, Charles Duch, Kyle Bentke, Josh Ruemke, Robert Ruemke, Dylan Bentke, and Dustin Majewski.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peters Lutheran Church of Gay Hill or Hospice Brazos Valley.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
