EUNICE - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Floyd Anthony Gaspard, Sr. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Ruston Regional Specialty Hospital at the age of 72. Floyd's life will be celebrated and honored during a Celebration of Life at 12:00 pm on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice. Following the ceremony, Floyd will be laid to rest at the St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery in Savoy with Pastor Gregory Gaspard officiating.
Born on May 27, 1951, to Louis and Florence Boone Gaspard, Floyd dedicated forty years of service to Texas Gas before his well-deserved retirement. Known for his skilled hands and love for outdoor activities like hunting and fishing, he also found joy in cooking. Floyd was also an avid football and New Orleans Saints fan. He cherished his furry companion Josie, affectionately referred to as "JoJo."
He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of his loved ones including his former wife, Denise Clements of Quitman; his children, Floyd “Tony” Gaspard, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Welsh, Brandon Gaspard and wife, Stacey of Roanoke, Rikki Zerangue and husband, Kamin of Opelousas, and Nikki Maxey and husband, Bryan of Quitman; his siblings, Gregory Gaspard and wife, Liz of Opelousas, Elroy Gaspard and wife, Barbara of Opelousas, Richard Gaspard of Eunice, Michael Gaspard and wife, Benji of Quitman, and Rhonda Broussard of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Josh Gaspard, Garrett Gaspard, Alexis Gaspard, Lindsey Gaspard, Kelsey Gaspard, and Kayleigh Maxey; one great granddaughter on the way; as well as extended family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sheri Mohon; parents; brother, Timmy Gaspard; and brother-in-law, Marvin Ellis.
At the request of the family, a visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 8:00 am until the time of services.
