Floyd Franklin Warren, Jr., a beloved member of his community, passed away on August 5, 2025, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Born on June 12, 1944, in Iredell County, NC, he was the son of Floyd Franklin Warren, Sr. and Pauline Cashion Warren.
Floyd was a quiet man, known for his gentle spirit and kind demeanor. He attended Iredell County Schools and dedicated a few years to his career before facing the challenges of disability. Despite these challenges, he found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping at Grandfather Mountain and enjoyed being outdoors—a testament to his appreciation for nature. Floyd had a special fondness for animals and would spend many hours watching the birds and squirrels that populated his yard. He was of the Baptist faith.
Floyd leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruth Snead Warren, who shared many cherished memories with him. He is also survived by a son, Donnie Tevepaugh (Robin), a daughter, Linda Hedrick (Scotty), six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life. He will be remembered fondly by his two sisters, Mary Lois Starnes and Marcus White, and his precious fur baby, Susie.
Floyd is preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Miller, one brother, and two sisters.
His family and friends will honor his memory and legacy during a visitation on August 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Nicholson Funeral Home, located at 135 E Front St, Statesville, NC. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at St. Michaels/Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, 618 South Main Street, Troutman, NC at 1:00 PM.
As we reflect on Floyd's life, we are reminded of the love he had for his family and his calm presence that touched the hearts of many. His memory will live on through the lives he enriched and the love he shared.
