Floyd Raymond Wersinger, 75, died Saturday, September 20, 2025, at CentraCare - Benson Hospital in Benson, Minnesota, after a long fight with COPD. Per Floyd's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, Minnesota, is assisting the family.
Floyd was born July 12, 1950, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Joseph and Viola (Schwebach) Wersinger. He was raised on a farm near Starbuck. He then moved to Hospers, Iowa and LaMars, Iowa, before moving back to Starbuck. Throughout his life, Floyd lived in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, California, and Nevada.
Floyd was married twice, which both resulted in divorce.
Floyd worked for Finke Ford in Glenwood, Minnesota, Arctic Cat in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and on a farm near Brooten, Minnesota, feeding hogs. He also worked for Trinity Tanks welding LP tanks and at Schwanke Tractor Salvage in Willmar, Minnesota. Floyd then moved back to the family farm to raise cattle. He and his cat Tommy loved being on the farm.
Floyd is survived by his brother and sisters: Dennis (Tootie) Wersinger of Starbuck, MN, Ronald Wersinger of Glenwood, MN, Carol (Tyrone) Jergenson of Alexandria, MN, Violet Loen of Sartell, MN, Kenneth (Dixie) Wersinger of Alexandria, MN, Leland (Kathy) Wersinger of Pennock, MN, and Ralph (Lori) Wersinger of Willmar, MN; and numerous relatives and friends.
Preceding Floyd in death were his parents Joseph and Viola Wersinger, brother Joseph T. Wersinger and his wife Doris, and brother-in-law Kevin Loen.
