Forrest Frank MacLean age 82, of Manistique, passed away March 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Forrest was born to Edward and Erika (Knaack) MacLean on May 19, 1942, in Chicago, ILL.
Forrest grew up in the Chicago area. In the late 1960's Forrest moved to Webbwood, Ontario, Canada with his dad. He started driving truck with his dad in his teens in Chicago and continued to drive truck the rest of his life until retirement. He had also worked in the Nickel Mine in Sudbury, Ontario for a few years.
On September 3,1994 he married the love of his life Kari Lynn Mattila in Cooks. They started their lives together in Webbwood, Ontario until 1996, when they moved to Cooks and then later to Manistique. Family and friends were of utmost importance to Forrest. Spending quality time with his kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. He especially loved sneaking sweets to the kids that came to visit him. He loved spending time at Camp in Echo Bay, Ontario with his family. Forrest's favorite sayings were 'It's no big deal' and 'don't talk about it, just do it'.
Forrest is survived by his loving wife Kari, his daughters, Karen (Kevin) Mach of St Joseph, MI, and Melissa Kulik (Christian Hansford) of Gladstone, MI, son Jeff MacLean of McKerrow, Ontario, stepdaughter Ann Corbett of Alliston, Ontario.
Father-in-law: Lloyd Swayer (Erin), brother in laws: Terry (Shannon) Manty, Preston (Samantha) Swayer and Sister-in-law: Amanda (Ron Irie) Swayer.
Grandchildren: Dana (Ray) Hensley, Leanne (Zach) Mooney, Alycia (Ryan Burch) Rabago, all in Arizona, Colin Kulik of Depere WI, Liam Kulik, Lucas Kulik, Bennett Kulik, Emalynn Kulik, Hudson Kulik, of Gladstone, MI and step grandson Kyler MacNeil of Alliston, Ontario
Great grandchildren: Exander, Kamden, Brayden, Kalani, Kawika, Nohea, Jayden, Conner, Leilani, Damien, Oliver, Milo, and Mabel all in Arizona.
He is also survived by nieces: Robin (Jim) Williams, Erika (Mitch Carlander) Wales, Pam (Scott) Lancaster, Margo Jadzak, Amy (Mark) Neilson, Hailey (Zach Santi) Bingham, Taylor Bingham, Elizabeth Swayer, Maci Wendt, and Allie Swayer, nephews: Randy (Cindy) Schoemann, Brian (Cari) Reule, Nick Manty and Tucker Swayer, numerous great nieces and nephews, several cousins. Special friends Larry and Dale (Cowboy).
Forrest is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Ericka, stepmother: Berniece, sister & brother-in-law Joan & Norm Schoemann, sister and brother-in-law: Margaret & Robert Reule, mother-in-law: Jean Swayer, numerous family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Fausett Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Memorial Service to follow with Father Ben Paris presiding. A luncheon will take place at the Manistique Moose Lodge afterwards.
