Hartsfield, Georgia – Frances Louise Pirkle Benson, 78, of Hartsfield, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Hugh Ward officiating. Interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Charlie Spruill, Wyatt Spruill, Ben Spruill, John Tippens, Clay Lawrence and Graham Hampton.
Honorary casketbearers are Hoyt Lawrence, Carter Tippens, Samuel Tippens and Zeke Lawrence.
Born November 4, 1946, in Gainesville, Georgia, she was a daughter of late Jack Usry Pirkle and the late Lida Westbrook Pirkle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ada Elizabeth Pirkle Spruill.
A graduate of the University of Georgia with Master’s and Specialist Degrees in Early Childhood Education, she spent thirty years as an educator in the Gwinnett County School System. Following her retirement, she moved to be close to family in Hartsfield. She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Batson; granddaughter, Jordan English and husband, Will; great-granddaughter, June Frances English; nephew and nieces, Robert Spruill and wife, Brooke, Carol Lawrence and husband, Shannon, Abby Tippens and husband, Cliff; great-nephews and great-nieces, Charlie Spruill, Emma Lawrence, Wyatt Spruill, Ben Spruill, John Tippens, Clay Lawrence, Andrea Spruill, Hoyt Lawrence, Carter Tippens, Samuel Tippens, Zeke Lawrence; and brother-in-law, Jack Spruill. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends.
Flowers are being accepted or memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Colquitt Christian Academy.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
