Frances "Fran" A. Borini Wigger, 87, passed away in Plainfield, Indiana on July 4, 2025. Fran was a 54-yr resident of Evansville, Indiana prior to moving to Plainfield to be closer to family. She was born in Pittston, PA on September 18, 1937 as one of seven children of Italian immigrant parents.
Fran grew up in Schenectady, New York and attended Hilltop High School, where she was very involved in school activities, graduating in 1956. In 1961, Fran married Robert (Bob) L. Wigger, and they raised their family in Evansville. Throughout her life, Fran worked for Ma Bell as a telephone operator, a mother and homemaker, a substitute teacher for the Catholic Diocese of Evansville, and with Deaconess Hospital in childcare services.
She is survived by her children Lisa Deckelman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Robert A. Wigger of Clear Water, FL, and Michael Wigger (Stephanie) of Avon, Indiana, her siblings Mary Lee and Sarah Pierotti, and six grandchildren (Kendyl, Tara, Ilona, Clare, Nate, and Alena). Fran is preceded in death by her parents, four of six siblings, and beloved daughter Christine (Wigger) Clark.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710 with a celebration of life starting at 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at the funeral home with Father Gene Schroeder officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
