Frances M. Burgess

Frances Corellis Burgess passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 10, 2025, at the home of her daughter Laura in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Frances was born in Albany, NY, on August 21, 1940, to Anthony and Helen (Rusk) Corellis.
Frances was the oldest of their seven children: Thomas, Shirley (Warburton), James, Anthony Jr., Patricia (Murphy) and
Romaine.
Fran married David Buckley and had three daughters: Debra (Wagner), Laura (Baker) and Brenda (McLean). Following her divorce, Fran moved with her girls to Fairfield, CT. Many years later she met and married Jack Scanlon. They remained married until his 1986 death.
Fran moved to Florida, but eventually returned to East Greenbush, NY. Back home there, she reconnected with Thomas Burgess, a man she was fond of almost 60 years earlier. Though their lives had gone in different directions, it was as if time had stood still in their hearts. They married and spent many happy years together, splitting their time between Florida and NY until his 2017 death. Tom's son, Tom Jr., and his wife Stacey remained very close to Fran.
Fran had four grandchildren: Jessica Marshall (Curtis), Jaclyn Deal (Marc), John McLean (Allyssa) and David DiPierro (Nicole). She had seven great grandchildren: Taven Marshall, Michael Ogden, Zachary Marshall, Mason Ogden, Grace and Ryder DiPierro, and Harlee McLean.
Fran loved cooking, classic movies, Frank Sinatra, Italy, beaches, Pug dogs, ceramics, and Scrabble. But most of all, she loved her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours from 4:00 -7:00 Tuesday, October 21 in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, at church of St. Mary of Clinton Heights 163 Columbia Tpk. East Greenbush, NY.
