Frances DeVall of East Longmeadow passed away on January 22, 2025. Frances was born in Springfield, MA, on June 12, 1931, the daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Hardy) Wade. Fran attended high school in Springfield and moved to East Longmeadow with her husband and children in 1964. She was an active member of St. Marks Episcopal Church including becoming a Lay Eucharistic Minister and was a long-time participant in the Altar Guild. She was an enthusiastic trivia competitor at the senior center in years past and also loved playing all kinds of cards. She had an enduring passion for saving the misfortunate animals and children of the world and donated generously to both causes. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, John H. DeVall, a son John C. DeVall, a daughter Susan Lynn Berselli, a sister Joanne French and a brother John Wade. She is survived by her devoted daughter Cynthia Lee Shanafelt of Chester, VT, a sister Betty Eiben of California, granddaughter Cheri Ricciardi and grandson Jason Berselli both of East Longmeadow, as well as several nieces and nephews and seven great grandchildren. Francess funeral will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1P.M. in St. Marks Episcopal Church 1 Porter Road, East Longmeadow, MA, 01028. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the animal welfare organization of your choice; she supported them all.
