Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Butcher Hatcher, age 75, of Ararat, Virginia, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 at Waddell Nursing in Galax. She was born on January 5, 1950 in Patrick County to the late Clarence Addison and Muriel Inscore Butcher. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her son; John Hunter (Deborah); grandchildren, Cody Thompson and Austin Brewer; sister, Pat Butcher; brothers, Arthur Heller and Rev. Doug Butcher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Hunter Welch, brothers, Clarence Michael Butcher and Bill Butcher; sister, Judy Jones. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Willis Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with service conducted by Joel Pyles. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy from 9:30 AM until time to leave for the graveside service.
