Frances Landis Obituary

Frances B. Landis, 99, entered into rest Saturday September 6, 2025 at Cornwall Manor Health Center where she had been a resident since 2020.
She was the wife of the late James M. Landis for 65 years.
Frances was born August 12, 1926 in York, Pennsylvania to the late Earl Leonard and Margaret (Lanzer) Leonard.
She was a homemaker and also worked for many years in the office of Campbell Chain Company.
Frances enjoyed socializing; whether it be playing cards with friends or family, playing bingo or taking a trip to a casino. She also enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren. She and Jim took many trips together; one of her favorite trips was visiting Hawaii. They also spent a lot of time on the beach and crabbing in Maryland.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband James Landis and her son Michael Landis, as well as 7 siblings.
She is survived by her daughter Jamie (Landis) Stewart and husband John.
Also 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Frances is also survived by her brother Donald Leonard of Ohio and her sister Joan Freitag of York as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A burial service will be held at 11am on October 11 at Machpelah Cemetery in Yorkana, PA.
Memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
