Frances Myrtle Espy Dempsey was 92 years young. She was the youngest of 9 children. Family and food were her favorite things. You could never go to her home without being fed something. And she always made sure you had a to go sack full of food when you left. She just loved to cook and we will really miss her Thanksgiving dinners. They were the best.
Her and my Dad, Tab Dempsey, had known each other since they were 5 years old. She played basketball in high school. Even though she was only 5' 2", she was quick. Her and Tab married on September 28, 1951, and were together to the end.
They had two children: Teresa Jean Dempsey Ross, husband Robert W. Ross of Port St. Lucie, FL. William Phillip Dempsey of Doraville, GA. two grandchildren, Brooks Winfred Ross of Port St. Lucie, FL and Amanda Leigh April Ross Bradley, husband Gareth Bradley, of Jupiter Farms, FL. three great-grandchildren, Bryce Luke Bradley and Austin John Bradley of Jupiter Farms, FL. Skylar Ross, USMC.
Her and Tab were square dancers and round dancers. They traveled and danced for years putting on cruise ship shows and entertaining around the state.
She was fondly known by everyone as Mammaw. All she wanted to ever do was dance, cook and take care of her family.
Graveside services for Frances will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will gather with friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:00am at the funeral home.
