Frances E. Witthaus

1935 - 2023

Frances Evelyn Witthaus, nee Helm, 87, Washington, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, in Washington.

She was born April 18, 1935, in Washington to George Helm and wife Anna, nee?Pelot. Born one of three triplets, Frances was born at St. Francis Hospital in Washington and was named after the hospital. Frances' parents passed away when she was very young, so Frances and her triplet brothers were raised by her aunt, Clara Pelot. She grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington High School.

After high school, Frances began working at Sporlan Valve Company and worked there for 17 years. She got married in 1957 and was blessed with one son. Frances later took a position at Mel Bay Publications in Pacific. She worked there for over 10 years and retired from the company in 2007. Frances was a longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Washington. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and loved spending time with her dogs.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Witthaus, Washington; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Helm, Washington, and Nancy Helm, Warrenton; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Helm; her brother, Eddie Helm and wife "Toot"; sister, Jeanette Strubberg and husband "Romey";?and triplet brothers, Fred Helm and Frank Helm.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
