Our precious Annette "Netty" Bucklew, age 61 of
Milton, Florida, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, and has gone home to joyfully join her mother, Shirlene Koppen as well as many other family and friends who have passed before her.
Netty was born January 11, 1963, to Myrtle "Shirlene" Sweeney Koppen and Charles Wayne Bucklew in Andalusia, Alabama.
She grew up in Texas and graduated from Clear Creek High School in League City, TX before moving to Florida where she spent most of her adult life.
Netty loved to spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching cartoons, animated movies, crime shows, and animal videos. As an animal advocate, Annette loved all animals with cats being her superpower. As a collector, she collected baseball caps, guitars, and torn jeans. Annette genuinely loved people and was always quick to help those in need especially the elderly, whether it was mowing yards, taking out trash, cleaning up or cleaning out houses. Although she was of modest means, she would help out her friends if they were in need of food or help making it until payday. She also enjoyed listening to classic rock music.
To describe Netty would be to say that she was hardworking, authentic, true to herself, generous, easy-going, humorous, nonjudgemental. She accepted people as they were.
Annette worked at various places in Milton where she made many friends and acquaintances. For many years she worked alongside her mother at her mother's market, the Bypass Farmers Market, at the Dogwood Drive, Steward Street, and the Pea Ridge Flea Market locations. Over the years she has worked at Tobacco Annie's, Food Outlet in Milton, Ollie's Neighborhood Grill, Cisco's Restaurant, and Rollo's Seafood.
Annette leaves behind her loving partner of 17 years – Lucille "Lucy" Bouchard and her
sister, Kristal D. Ellett (Ron) of Texas and her brother, Wayne Bucklew of Texas and sister-in-law, Sharon Rogers of Missouri.
Also left to cherish her memory were her nieces, Whitney Escoto (Raymond) and Lyssa Bucklew and her nephews, Reed Ellett (Amanda) and Charles Bucklew (Brittney).
In addition to the nieces and nephews, there were grand nieces: Adaline Ellett, Rebecca Escoto, Juliette Bucklew, Relieghann Bucklew, and Meave Bucklew; and grand nephews, Rhett Ellett, Jack Escoto, and Chase Bucklew.
Netty is also survived by her aunts who loved her dearly: Jewel Williams, Ann Spears, Connie Garza, and Patricia Sweeney.
Annette had many cousins and extended family members who have offered their condolences.
Lastly but not least, Netty leaves behind her precious fur baby cats, Jagge and Milmil who already miss her.
Service is to be held at the Trahan Family Funeral Home, 6539 Trammel Drive in Milton, on Wednesday July 31, 2024 at 4:00. The family invites you to come celebrate and share in memories of Netty's life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the funeral home in Annette's name to help offset final expenses.
Annette is gone too soon and will be greatly missed but the cherished memories of love, laughter, caring, and her many acts of kindness and generosity, will live on with all of those who knew her.
