Frank Brandel Hamilton, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, June 6, 2025. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Frank Hamilton Sr. and Virginia (Brandel) Hamilton. He is survived by his brother, Scott Hamilton.

Frank lived in various places throughout the years including London, KY, while he attended Sue Bennett College, spent some time in the Tucson, AZ, area, had homes in Punta Gorda, FL, and Hart MI, but Marne, MI, is where he always called home.

It’s difficult to say what Freewheeling Frank loved, because he loved so much. He was an avid collector of everything from license plates and records to Indian relics and old beer cans. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball, even having played on a men’s league. When he didn’t play, he continued to watch sports with his favorite being college basketball (go Spartans!). He loved cars, music, canning, boating, and cannot leave out potting. What he loved above all else, was sharing the stories of his life and the knowledge he acquired through his years of just living and enjoying everyday for what it was. Whether you were the neighbor next door or the guy he just met, Frank never ran out of something to say! You may have met strangers but left as friends and friends is what Frank collected best. He will be sadly missed by many.

Per Frank’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation services are being handled through Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville, MI. In his memory, please take a moment of time to just slow down and take it easy.
