Frank Sylvan Johnson, 70 of Crookston MN, passed away peacefully at Altru Hospital on February 21, 2025. He was born in Grand Forks ND on January 8, 1955 to parents Kenneth and Audrey (Suprenant) Johnson, and was the first of four children.

Frank grew up on the family farm, where he developed a love for farming and hard work early in life. He attended Crookston High School and graduated with the class of 1974, and continued on to Northland Tech in Thief River Falls for auto body work, graduating in 1976. He went to work at Northern Motors and worked in detailing. Frank worked multiple jobs over the years, such as Simplot, EW Wiley (Trans Systems), was a ranch hand in ND for awhile then went to Crookston Bean. He hauled beets for Meyer Farms, Hanson Farms, Boucher Farms and Baatz Farms. He also helped Richard Dale with road grading.

Family was always important to him over the years, from helping his father with farm work and his mother in the garden, even helping his brother with his various projects over the years. Later in life he was happy to host and attend family events. Every moment spent with family was a moment he treasured. From childhood, to his final day, Frank loved to talk and connect with everyone he could and put a smile on their face. He loved sitting in the shop, talking and telling stories, joking around with anyone that came through the door. He enjoyed snowmobiling and riding motorcycles, cleaning and taking care of the yard.
