It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank William Kent, who departed this life at the age of 84.

Frank was born on June 23, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the beloved son of Peter and Margaret Kent.

He is survived by his children Margaret (Peter) Parcell, Daniel (Jill) Kent, and Theresa (Mark) Williamson, as well as his (8) grandchildren, Elizabeth Parcell, Kathleen Parcell, Jessica Parcell, Abigail Parcell, Amanda Kent, Lexi (Cameron) Alday, Alayna Williamson, Brent Williamson, and (1) great-grandchild Emerie Alday, two brothers Robert and Peter, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Frank was a proud Navy veteran, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a man who never missed an opportunity to share a good story. He lived his life with deep patriotism, proudly wearing his Navy veteran hat and recalling his time serving alongside his brothers in uniform. He loved visiting military bases, exploring museums, and seeing Navy ships and warbirds that brought back memories of his years overseas. His service was a cornerstone of his identity, and he carried that pride with him each and every day.

Frank proudly served aboard the USS Charles H. Roan, a destroyer. After his service, he began a long and dedicated career with Western Electric, later known as Lucent Technologies, retiring after more than 40 years.

Frank was passionate about serving his country, outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting, and spending time at the Cherokee Gun Club. He never missed an opportunity to go on vacation with family or attend special events for his grandchildren.

He loved sharing his hobbies with those he loved. A trip to the range was not just about shooting, but about bonding and passing on traditions. Afterwards, a stop at Mayfield Dairy for ice cream on the rocking chairs became a family tradition, filled with laughter, conversation, and the kind of moments that become lasting memories.

Frank also treasured the first Tuesday of every month, when he met his buddies at Cracker Barrel, swapping stories and enjoying the comfort of lifelong friendships.

Frank's legacy lives on in the stories he shared, the traditions he passed down, and the love he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to bring comfort and joy to those who knew him.

In honor of his memory, and In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to support a cause close to Frank's heart. He was honored to fly in a WWII B-29 bomber, and believed deeply in preserving the history of those who designed, built, flew and maintained B-29 Superfortresses during World War II, please visit https://www.b29doc.com/donate/ in memory of Frank W.
