Frank L. Lester

Frank L. Lester age 83 of San Antonio passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026.

He was born November 4, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Frank Rogers Lester and Dorothy Duncan Lester who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lester is preceded in death by his brother, Winston Lester and his wife, Ione.

Upon high school graduation, Frank entered the U.S. Navy and was positioned on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga from 1960 to 1964. After his Military Service he joined the San Antonio Police Department in 1965. After 30 years of employment with SAPD, he retired in 1995 as Detective. Wanting to stay busy during retirement, Frank was employed at Garden-Ville and was quickly promoted to Manager.

Frank has always enjoyed building, first building a home in the 1970s. He later built a home at Medina Lake where he also enjoyed boating and fishing. He and Sue later owned rural acreage in D'Hanis, Texas where Frank continuously made improvements to the house and barn when he wasn't working with the cattle or hunting. As recreation, Frank and Sue bought a ski condo in Fraser, Colorado where they enjoyed skiing and hiking. Frank loved being creative and completed several beautiful landscape painting and scenic stained-glass windows.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Michael Lester and Michael's wife, Joy, daughter, Rebecca Lester New and Rebecca's husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Jacob, Anna and Zachary, Harrison and Dylan; brother, John Lester and his wife, Carol; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service with Military Honors will be on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Mission Park Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Road, San Antonio, Texas with a Celebration of Life (Reception) will follow at the Funeral Home.
