Frank J. Piroddi, Jr.
On July 9, 2025, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Frank J. Piroddi Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 85. We know that Frank moved on to a better place in heaven and surrounded by love.
Frank was born on April 20, 1940, on the DeTullio family farm in Welby, Colorado, to Frank and Angelina Piroddi. He spent his early years surrounded by his parents, sister Phyllis, and extended family. The family later moved to North Denver, where Frank attended St. Catherine's Grade School and Cathedral High School.
A gifted and driven athlete, Frank was a standout quarterback on the football field and an exceptional talent in both basketball and baseball. His natural athleticism and competitive spirit made him a standout in every sport he played. He was also an accomplished Golden Gloves boxer known in the ring and around town as "TKO Piroddi", a nickname earned from his fearsome reputation and a punch to match.
After high school, Frank proudly served in the Marine Corps Reserves before beginning a lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver- a job that suited his love for freedom, long roads, and horsepower. He loved anything fast - speedboats, cars, trucks and thrived on adrenaline. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with close friends, and took great pride in tending to his large vegetable garden, which he generously shared with family and neighbors.
Known throughout North Denver's tight-knit Italian community, Frank was a tough guy that nobody wanted to mess with. A man as respected as he was feared, and just as deeply loved. His loyalty ran deep, and his word meant everything.
On December 16, 1977, Frank married Anne Sherman, and together they raised two daughters, Christy and Lori, whom he adored. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who made time for Sunday dinners, holiday traditions, and regular visits with extended family. He was a die hard Denver Broncos fan, always cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty win or lose. Holidays were filled with food, laughter, and the warmth of tradition just the way Frank liked it.
He was a proud Italian, a lifelong Republican, and a protector by nature. He was the most loyal friend and father anyone could ask for. His strength, authenticity, and larger-than-life presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Anne Piroddi; daughters Christy and Lori; five grandsons: Todd, Josh, Eric, Vinny, and Joey; his sister Phyllis; niece Carlene Krough; and nephew Tony Battaglino. He also leaves behind many cherished friends and extended family.
