Frank P. Sarko Sr.

Frank P. Sarko, Sr., 100, of Salisbury Twp., passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026. Born on June 23, 1925, in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of the late Milhaly and Erzsebet (Pastenyi) Szarka.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he was employed as a welder at Bethlehem Steel, where he dedicated 45 years before retiring.

He was an active member of the River Road Fire Company and took pride in giving back to his community. In his free time, Frank enjoyed woodworking and was especially known for the birdhouses he lovingly crafted and shared with others.

An avid outdoorsman, Frank enjoyed hunting and deep-sea fishing. He also played fast pitch softball and was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. One of his greatest joys was his annual two-week summer vacation to Beach Haven, Long Beach Island, a tradition he cherished for many years.

Survivors: He is survived by his son, Wayne Sarko and wife Priscilla of Riegelsville; his loving grandchildren, Kristin Hersh and her husband Brad and Ryan Sarko and his wife Susanna, who lovingly called him "Pop Pop"; his cherished great-grandchildren, Gianna, Dylan, Andie and Bailee, who brought him great joy and happiness, whenever he saw them; brother, Andy Sarko of Bethlehem; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Snyder) Sarko; his sons, John Truman and Frank P. Sarko, Jr., and his siblings.
