Frank Jay Smith, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on 16 September 2025 after a fourteen-year battle with cancer. He passed away in his favorite chair, surrounded by his family. Frank Jay Smith was born on 22 October 1946 to Roy and Bevalon Smith. He graduated from Pike High School, served his country when drafted into the Vietnam War, and worked tirelessly to provide for his family.

Frank is survived by his son Jeffrey, his grandchildren Noah & Sophia, his daughter-in-law Leanna, and his nieces Lee Ann and Trisha. He is also survived by his Aunt Martha and his cousins Rick and John. He was preceded by his wife Lucinda, his brother Roy Lee, and his cousin Pam.

In his life he went from living in a house with no indoor plumbing as a child, to owning his own home outright by the time he retired. He loved technology, gadgets, tennis, and attending the Indianapolis 500 with his son. He was a man of few words, but great actions, and every action he took was for the benefit of his family.

A small personal service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel in Plainfield, Indiana on September 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm
