Misty Johnson

Misty Johnson, 62, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her home on December 11th of 2025, leaving a void her family simply cannot fill.

She was born in Evansville on March 15th, 1963, to Frank Johnson and Margaret Esarey, and grew up predominantly in the Pike County area. Misty attended Pike Central High School in Petersburg, Indiana, but graduated her senior year in 1981 while attending Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (NCOE) Community High School after moving to Enfield, Illinois. After graduation, she went on to hold several successful positions in logistics coordination and dispatching.

Misty was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Laine Whitney and Kalea Baize. Her daughters cherished countless fond memories alongside Misty and now miss her dearly in her passing.

The loss of Misty has reverberated throughout her family, as everyone has always known her to be the "life of the party". She was known for her fun-loving attitude, her witty sense of humor, as well as her love of classic rock and baseball. AC/DC has always been her favorite band, and anyone close to her was well familiar with her undying love of the Chicago Cubs. Throughout her life, she proved to be an amazing artist that focused on animals, nature, and landscapes. She also had a passion for animal advocacy and supported non-profit animal rescues when possible.

Misty was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Esarey; her father, Frank Johnson; her beloved sister, Valerie Johnson; and her late pet, Bella Johnson. She is survived by her incredibly supportive aunt, Madeline Southard; her sister, Corry Tracer; her daughters, Laine Whitney and Kalea Baize; her beloved pet dog, Petey Johnson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close family friends. Misty brought humor and love into the lives of innumerable people, all of whom deeply feel the void left by her passing. Regardless, Misty's family and friends find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.
