Frank O. Thomas, Jr., age 83, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, Ohio. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 12, 1942 to Frank O. Thomas, Sr. and Geraldine (nee Ziegler).
After graduating high school, Frank went on to enlist in the Navy where he proudly served on the USS Oglethorpe and received the Armed Forces and Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba) and the National Defense Service Medal for service to his country. He returned home from military service but continued to serve and give back as a member of the VFW Honor Guard and Past Master of the Elyria Masonic Lodge. He was employed at the Lorain Corrections Facility as a Prison Guard.
He enjoyed watching the Browns, camping, fishing and frog gigging.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Geraldine Thomas, and ex-wife, Barbara Thomas.
He is survived by his children Frank (Joanne) Thomas III, Brenda (Dave) Hamilton, Michael (Nicci) Thomas, Shona (Dave) Bennett, Timothy (Heather) Thomas, Robert (Stephanie) Schildt, and Stephanie (Tim) Phillips and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family, friends and loved ones are invited on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Reichlin Roberts Bollinger Funeral Home at 327 Cleveland Street in Elyria, OH with a Masonic Service to be held at 6:30 pm. Burial will be on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at Brookdale Cemetery at 41600 Oberlin Elyria Road in Elyria, OH with Military Honors.
