Frankie Florene (McLean) Botts passed away on September 12, 2025 at home in
Corvallis, OR.
Frankie was born on October 22, 1928, in Springfield, MO, to Frank and Georgia McLean. She spent her childhood in Missouri. Frankie graduated from Central High School in Springfield, MO in 1946, attended Southwest Missouri State College, and graduated from Washington University School of Nursing in St Louis, MO in 1950. She worked as a nurse off and on throughout her adulthood – in a polio unit, at a cancer hospital, as a country public health nurse, in a pediatric clinic at University of Missouri School of Medicine, and at a gastroenterologist's office in
Corvallis, OR.
Frankie met and married Robert Paul Botts in October 1951. They lived in Columbia, MO, New Orleans, LA, Philadelphia, PA, Cary, NC, and they moved to
Corvallis, OR in 1973. They had three children and enjoyed a long, happy marriage filled with family, friends, bridge games, and travel all over the world.
Frankie was an active member of the Corvallis community and served as a member of First Presbyterian Church (and Deacon), OSU Folk Club, Chapter CL of PEO, Assistance League of Corvallis (Past President), and Crossroads International (hosting many international students new to the Corvallis community). She also hosted many Japanese students for the OSU English Department Language Institute and assisted in a program for visiting international professors.
Frankie loved being a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children - Patty Botts Baker of Philomath, Beth Botts Bostrom of Heidelberg, Germany, and Ron Botts of Round Rock, Texas. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and her husband Paul.
A memorial service will take place in early 2026. Those wishing to make a contribution in Frankie's name can do so to Assistance League of Corvallis or First Presbyterian Church.
