SHELBY: Frankie Eugene Humphries, born on May 31, 1964, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, took his final journey home on July 7, 2025, at the age of 61, in his hometown.
A beloved son, brother, and friend to many, Frankie was known for his sharp intellect and kind spirit. His profound love for old classic cars, particularly Camaros, was a defining passion in his life. His fascination with vintage items extended to treasures from the junkyard and an impressive collection of car magazines. Frankie had a unique ability to find beauty and utility in old tools, maintaining a dedicated place for each in his collection.
An enthusiast of film and television, Frankie particularly enjoyed the movie "Hacksaw Ridge," which resonated deeply with him. He was also a devoted member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Shelby, NC, where he found community and spiritual solace.
Frankie is preceded in death by his father, Willie "Bud" Humphries, and his sister, Angela Humphries. He leaves behind his cherished mother, Florence Humphries, his brother, Jeffrey Humphries, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. A service to honor Frankie’s life will follow at 3:00 PM at the same location. The service will be officiated by Rev. Derek Greene.
Pallbearers: Greg Harris, Christopher Cogdell, Bubba Gardner, Dustin Crouse, Will Owens, and Joe Hollmer.

Frankie will be remembered for his warmth, his keen mind, and his enduring love for those around him. May he rest in peace.
To honor the memory of Frankie, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Shelby, NC.
