Franklin Crosby III Obituary Franklin Muzzy Crosby III (Muzzy)
Wayzata, MN - Franklin Muzzy Crosby III died peacefully on May 7, 2025, in his apartment in Folkestone Presbyterian Homes in Wayzata.
Born in 1932 in Minneapolis, Muzzy was the second child of Franklin Muzzy Crosby Jr. and Elizabeth Lane Crosby. An avid athlete and lover of nature throughout his life, Muzzy played football, hockey and baseball in school, hunted ducks, fished, sailed, golfed, and even climbed the Matterhorn as a young man. He was proud of his service with the Marines during the Korean War. Later he helped to design boats and mobile homes made of fiberglass in the 1960s and 70s. In more recent years he continued his adventures, traveling the world with his wife and companion of over 50 years, Gisela Crosby, visiting all the continents but one (Antarctica).
Muzzy's love of life was infectious, and his warmth, humor, curiosity and generosity were appreciated by all who knew him. He was happiest when spending time with his family, often playing cribbage or indulging in ice cream or other treats, during summers at Madeline Island, or in one of their homes in Minnesota, Arizona, or Montana.
He is survived by his wife Gisela, 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN, on Tuesday, June 24: Visitation, 9am - 10 am; Funeral service, 10am- 11am; Reception, 11:00am.
