Judy Jane Schmidt

Judy Schmidt of Minneapolis MN was called home to the lord on September 30th. Judy is proceeded in death by her husband Jerry Schmidt, Parents Chester and Shirley Highness and daughter-in -law, Shelley Schmidt. She is survived by her son, David Schmidt and daughter-in-law Kim Schmidt, grandson, Austin Schmidt, daughter Rachel Schmidt, brother Joel Highness, sister-in-law Nancy Highness, brother Randy Highness and sister-in-law, Annie Highness. As a dedicated wife of 62 years, Jerry has taken Judy's hand once again and leads her into eternal life together. Her devotion to her husband and children was deep and unwavering. Her strong and loving example will live on in the lessons she taught. Known for her charisma, Judy had an enthusiasm for life. She never turned down an opportunity for travel, adventure and entertaining. Honoring her maiden name as well as her pageant days she was affectionately known to her family as "Her Highness". Judy found great pride in teaching high school in Glendon MN in the 60's before moving to the Twin Cities and then Atlanta, GA. where she enjoyed her volunteer work. Later in life she came home to Minnesota to live out her final years. Judy cherished her friendships and the memories that were made will leave a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to know her. The Schmidt family invites you to attend a memorial mass service at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church on Friday October 24th @ 11:00am. 155 CR-24 Wayzata MN 55391. Jerry and Judy will be laid to rest together in Lake City MN.
