Franklin Thomas Howard, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed on March 17,2025 after a challenging journey with cancer. He fought it courageously 'til the end. He was 58 years old.
Frank, along with his late twin brother Fred, was born on April 7,1966 to parents, Harry Howard MD and Sybil Schellhase Howard MD. He grew up in Danville, attending Montair Elementary School and later, Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek. He attended Charlotte Wood Middle School and graduated from San Ramon Valley High School, in Danville, in 1984. He received his AA degree from Diablo Valley College in Concord and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University in 1990. He and his brother commuted daily to attend college together in San Jose from Danville. He worked as a machinist in manufacturing and automotive repair for most of his life.
Frank had a passion for cars, motorcycles, bikes and dogs. He loved gardening and riding his bike around Moraga and Orinda. Frank enjoyed firing up the barbecue and kicking back in the backyard, at a park or on the lake, listening to music. That was his oasis.
Frank will be remembered for his kindness, smile and zest for life. Frank had a great sense of humor and made many people laugh. May his memory bring smiles all around.
He is survived by his sister, Jeanette Howard Rasmussen and her husband, Gregg Rasmussen, nephews Luke and Jack Rasmussen of Los Gatos, his love and companion, Pamela Center and his many friends, cousins and family. Frank was predeceased by his father, Harry Emerson Howard, MD, his mother Sybil Jean Schellhase Howard MD of Danville and his brother, Fredrick William Howard of Moraga.
A graveside celebration will be held on Monday, March 31st at 11 am at Oakmont Memorial Park at 2099 Reliez Valley Rd in Lafayette, CA in the Garden of Harmony.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Bruns House, Hospice of the East Bay, Alamo, CA or the American Cancer Society.
