Fred Allen "Grumpus" Buckner Jr., born July 16, 1959, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, September 13, 2024, surrounded by family.
Al was a lifetime member of Lonsdale United Methodist Church, a 1977 graduate of Knoxville Central High School and recently retired from Knox Box and Container.
He had a vast knowledge and deep appreciation for music, musical artists, baseball and the Pittsburg Steelers.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karin Stern Buckner; son, Evan Buckner; brother, Tom (Lisa) Buckner; brother-in-law, Jon Stern; grandchildren, Marleigh and Grayson Buckner; uncle, Charles Buckner; nephew, Austin (Abby) Buckner; niece, Maggie (Zach) McKee; and numerous amazing cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Lonsdale United Methodist Church (PO Box 30251, Knoxville, TN 37930).

I will always remember how much I laughed and enjoyed watching Al drink the hot sauce I used to bring him every time I visited from New York.
