James Tyler Porter, a devoted family man, entrepreneur, a passionate Harley-Davidson rider went to be with his Lord and Savor Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 20,2026.

He is remembered for his strong, diligent work ethic with Tyler's Hauling Services, his charismatic personality, his love for life, his close bond with family and friends, and the simply joy of spending time at the lake. If you were around him, you were laughing.

Born January 25, 1983, from Powell, TN. Tyler was an honor graduate from Powell High School. Graduated from Byington-Solway Technology Center with a Certificate of Construction.

Tyler was proceeded in death by his parents Mike & Dollie Porter; Brother Eric Porter; Uncle Jay Porter; Grandparents Fred & Caramae Porter and Clyde Katherine Muzyngo.

He is survived by his loving son Norris Porter; the love of his life his fiancé' Jessica Elliott; loyal brother Josh Howell; circle of brothers Rick Thompson, Drew Allison, Jamie Hipps, Jacob Heiser,and Loren Taylor.

Services will be held on Thursday January 22, at Glory Church at Dante. Receiving friends and family from 5 -7 pm with services to follow. Graveside will be Friday January 23 at 1 pm at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens in Alcoa, TN. Pallbearers will be Josh Howell, Norris Porter, Rich Thompson, Drew Allison, Jamie Hipps, and Jacob Heiser. Honorary pallbearers Loren Taylor, Jimmy Hunley.

Tyler was a great friend. He was always happy and laughing. Tyler had a great work ethic and he loved his mama and daddy and his son so very very much. He will be missed.
