Fred William Craig III, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born in New London, New Hampshire to Celia Henderson Craig and Fred Craig II, he was a longtime resident of Kenner, Louisiana.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Craig; his children, Robert Craig and Lauren Craig, from his former spouse, Anita Craig; and was a proud grandfather to Robert's two daughters, Liliana and Isabela Craig. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Mariela Corpus (Peter Corpus), Marisol Rivera (+Iván López), Marisabel Soto (Gerard Soto), José A. Rivera (Martha Rivera), and Diego A. Rivera (Amanda Rivera), and cherished his beautiful extended family, including cousins José, Victoria, and Carlos Lardizábal and their families.
Although born in the United States, Fred spent much of his youth in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he built deep and lasting friendships that remained important to him throughout his life. It was during those years that he discovered a passion for golf-playing in Lima and later dedicating much of his life to the sport through both play and work in the golf industry.
Fred also worked as a car salesman, a role that perfectly complemented his charm and people skills. His golfing talent earned him a special reputation-he was often the team ringer at charity tournaments around the city. Whether on the course or at the dealership, Fred had a way of connecting with people and excelling at whatever he set out to do.
Later in life, Fred met and married Elizabeth, his devoted partner and companion. Their marriage was filled with love, respect, and joy. He embraced not only her but also her vibrant Venezuelan family, who welcomed him with open arms. Together, they supported each other through challenges and celebrated life's moments-big and small. The family's continued support was one of his greatest blessings.
