DATELINE: KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
Fred Odell Moody Jr.
Fred Odell Moody Jr., 71, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 26, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born in Randolph County, NC, son of the late Fred Odell Moody Sr. and Mary Ethel Walker Moody and was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lois Hagans Moody. Dell was a licensed electrician by trade and retired after many years of service as the maintenance supervisor at Rutherford EMC. He served his country honorably in the US Army. Dell attended Grace Methodist UMC for many years and after the closing of the church, attended El Bethel UMC. He enjoyed staying busy and was considered a consummate "Mr. Fix It". Dell could repair anything that his friends and neighbors brought to him. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid gardener and wood cutter. His strong will and determination was an example to everyone who knew him. Dell was a loving father and devoted pawpaw to his granddaughters. He seldom missed an opportunity to be near them and enjoyed attending volleyball games in support of his granddaughters. Dell's guidance and love will be missed greatly by all those who knew him.

Granddaughters: Zoe and Aubrey McCorquodale
Sister: Nancy Kearns and husband Tom, Manning, SC
Nephew: Adam Kearns (Pierre Perez), Indianapolis, IN
Numerous loving brothers and sisters-in-law
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM at El Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Julie Roberts officiating
VISITATION: Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the fellowship hall at El Bethel UMC
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
Memorials in Dell's memory may be made to El Bethel United Methodist Church at 122 El Bethel Road, Kings Mountain, NC 28086
