Fred Leon Vance Jr., age 74, of Gurdon, Arkansas passed away on June 26, 2025.
Mr. Vance was born on September 22, 1950 in Mountain View, Missouri to his parents, Fred Leon Sr. and Elma Doris Vance. He had a love for home improvement projects and working on cars, trucks, & motorcycles. He was also a member of Evergreen Church.
Fred also served in the United States Army in Germany and Vietnam. He received many decorations which were, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter M16, Good Conduct Medal, and Honorable Discharge.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Debra Vance.
Left to cherish his memory is his two children, Ben (Neeley) Vance, Brandon Vance; three grandchildren, Alley Vance, Cale Vance, and Parker Rogers; two sisters, Shirley White, Louise Nalls; two brothers, Jim Vance, Leroy (Deana) Vance; along with a host of extended family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Evergreen Church in Gurdon, Arkansas with Bro. Mitch Plyler officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home.
