Freddie Phillip Gallegos was born on February 1, 1955. He was a loving father, son, uncle, grandfather, cousin, and friend. On October 2, 2023, Freddie succumbed to natural health conditions at his home in Sherman, Texas. He was 68 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents Adolph Gallegos Jr. & Betty Gallegos (Denver, CO), and wife Valerie Gallegos (Glenwood Springs, CO). He is survived by his three children: Freddie Hall (Vickie Whiddon), Jarrod Gallegos (Natasha Gallegos), & Brittany Gallegos along with his five grandchildren; DeeShawn (28), Abi (20), Aliyah (16), Timmy (11), and Aspen (5).
Freddie was a strong employee during his working years. He was a warehouse worker most of his adult life. He worked his way up to where he led many warehouse teams and trained them on how to load and unload truck trailers properly which also helped gain the respect of his coworkers & supervisors. At his most recent employer, Freddie was the leader of the Safety Committee Team at FedEx Freight and was a "go to" individual for training and advice.
He was a loving father who cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren, and frequently went by the nickname "Duffy." He was proud of all his children and their many accomplishments in life. His hobbies and favorite past-times included playing basketball when he was younger, playing pool, bowling, playing blackjack, cooking, fishing, camping, and spending time with family & friends. In his younger teenage years, Freddie was active in Taekwondo and was well accomplished in learning the martial art. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Graveside burial services will take place at a later date, to be determined, where he will be laid to rest at Olinger Highland Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any monetary donations be made via the GoFundMe account setup in his name to help assist with burial expenses.
