Freddie Mac Jackson, age 79, aka known as "Uncle Mac" of Saginaw, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, Michigan. Freddie was born on March 12, 1945, to Alex Sr. and Lovelee (Goobee) Jackson, in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
Freddie graduated from East Livingston High School in Springfield, Louisiana in 1963. Shortly after he moved to Saginaw, Michigan, he was employed by General Motors (Grey Iron) for 35 years. Over the years, he worked in different areas of the plant. He enjoyed working with others. While in Saginaw, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He loved having conversations about God's Word and looked forward to sharing the Gospel with others. Over the years, he served in various positions within the church, including Deacons Board, Christian Education (Sunday school teacher), and choir/praise team. It brought him joy to bring his boys to church with him. In his spare time, Freddie enjoyed bowling, fishing, singing and swimming. His favorite food was "buffet food." After church, you would more than likely find him eating at the Golden Corral. Since the early 1980s, Freddie regularly attended his AA meetings where he enjoyed the community and conversations. He looked forward to the fellowship, as well as the opportunity to share his testimony on how God turned his life around.
Freddie is survived by his beloved children, John Graves, Duane (Lashun) Jackson, Michael Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, and Ryan (Ngozi) Jackson; several grandchildren; his four siblings, Ruby Rheames, Alex Ray Tillman, Gill Spencer Tillman (Wilisa), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Freddie was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Jackson; and his parents.
Visitation will take place Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 120 N. 15th Street, Saginaw, MI 48601, the Rev. Dr. Vincent McMillon, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saginaw.

I am so sorry to hear of Freddie's passing. He was not only a neighbor but a friend. I remember when he came over with his saxophone and I got out my clarinet and we both tried to regain our childhood to no avail. He will be missed.
