Freddy Dean Roberts, 64 of McCurtain died on Friday, August 15, 2025 at his home. He was born at McCurtain on September 15, 1960 to Fred and Ruby (Watts) Roberts. He grew up and was educated at McCurtain Schools. He worked for several years in construction and the coal mines. He began a career with Longhorn Drilling that lasted 32 years. He was married to Cynthia Apple on July 29, 1988 and made their home together at McCurtain. He loved his mules, cars, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He loved his family and adored spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Roberts of the home; one son, Billy Roberts of Hackett, Arkansas; 3 daughters, Jessica Brown of Tulsa, Kassandra Roberts and Cody Parker of Keys, Oklahoma, Adriena Roberts-Ross of Pocola; grandchildren, Logan Roberts of Pryor, Tashana Striegel, Traydon Hunter of Red Oak, Adeliyn Brown of McCurtain, Sterlyn Hunter of Red Oak, Cloudy Parker of Keys, Brandtley Roberts, Kaylee Ross, Lilly Beth Ross, Riley Ross all of Pocola; his siblings, Nellie Petty and husband Robert of McCurtain, David Roberts and wife Belinda of McCurtain, Nadina Decker of Kinta, Marlo Roberts of McCurtain. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby Roberts; grandparents, Dave and Rena Roberts; two sisters, Tammy Labor and Gaila Tackett; one infant brother. Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 19 at Old Panther Cemetery with Reverend Doug Smith officiating. The Eulogist will be Pastor Jack Sloan. Pallbearers will be Tyler Labor, Logan Roberts, Traydon Hunter, Billy Roberts, Cody Parker and David Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Roberts, Adeliyn Brown, Cody Thomas, Loyd Mayhall, Dan Rolonda, Dustin Thomas. Burial will follow under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler.
