It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick "Fred" C. Hinderer, age 69, of Lubbock, on November 26, 2025.

Fred was born on October 3, 1956, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Forrest and May Ree Hinderer. His early years were spent in Houston before the family relocated to Roswell, New Mexico, and later to Midland, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Midland (now Midland Legacy High School).

He went on to attend Texas Tech University, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. Upon graduation, he was offered a position at the university and dedicated his entire professional career to Texas Tech until his retirement. Fred was a passionate supporter of the Red Raiders, serving as an avid fan of Texas Tech Football and Basketball, and also loved cheering on the Houston Astros. He thoroughly enjoyed watching sports, both live and on television.

Fred was a devout Christian who loved his Lord and cherished reading the Bible. Known for being both loving and firm, he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching Seinfeld. Some of his favorite memories included taking his son, Joseph, fishing in Ruidoso. Later in life, after the birth of his granddaughter, Emma, he adored shopping for her and treasured taking his family out to eat.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and May Ree Hinderer; his stepmother, Reba Hinderer; and his brother, Joe Hinderer.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Joseph Hinderer and girlfriend, Lacey Turner Hill, of Cotton Center; and his beloved granddaughter, Emma Hinderer, of Lubbock.
